East Coast EdVentures co-founder and president, Anki Cowen, came to the United States from her native Sweden in 1983 as an au pair. Eager to learn about her new home, Anki found that travel was the best way to get to know the country, its history and culture. And it was a great way to meet new friends, too.
In 1997, while working as an au pair coordinator outside Boston, Anki and a friend organized a trip for several dozen au pairs to Washington, DC, the first of many such adventures for their new company, East Coast EdVentures.
Today, East Coast EdVentures has made it possible for tens of thousands of au pairs and students from around the world to experience first-hand the eastern United States and Canada, to visit national landmarks and to learn in a fun and educational environment. Many of our customers come back again and again and bring their friends along as well.
